Me Time Ideas

We can’t slack off on our me time

It’s 1:40am on March 20, 2022; there’s a beautiful full moon in Libra and I’m beaming with energy. Baby and hubby are asleep and I finally can enjoy the silence of the home to do literally whatever my heart desires.

In a perfect world “me time” would be anytime we want it, but in the world of motherhood, most of the time you have to get in where you fit in, no matter what the time is. Now the big move is actually jumping on the opportunity when it presents itself, not washing dishes, or doing laundry or cleaning up toys, those tasks aren’t going anywhere and they’re literally never ending. What is slim pickings is the silence you want to meditate, or do yoga, that late night opportunity you get to run to the 24/7 gym to workout or swim, the extra money to get the babysitter and have the travel nail tech come over, while you schedule the laundry pick up service. Do whatever brings you joy and helps you reset your mental capacity. Taking action on the things we want to do instead of the things we have to do all the time, be selfish with your me time, soak it up, go big, bask in the joyfulness of the moment. We do a lot for everybody and not nearly enough for ourselves, grab control of your “me time” and thank yourself for showing up to the party of life and showing out.

Below is a list of 23 “Me time” ideas to get the ball rolling.

  • Write in a cute journal
  • Go to the spa
  • Go horseback riding
  • Go on a drive
  • Get a massage
  • Watch a movie
  • Enjoy a drink
  • Try a new crafting activity
  • Attend a pottery class
  • Try Glassblowing
  • Book an Air bnb for one night & live out the evening however you want
  • Go get your hair professional done
  • Go on a date ( Hubby, Mom, Friends)
  • Go shopping (save for this activity so when you go, you won’t have to study price tags)
  • Take a bath
  • Read
  • Take a walk
  • Buy yourself Flowers
  • Try a new recipe ( and/or go grab a new cookbook)
  • Explore a new bookstore
  • Do your shower routine at your own pace
  • Put on something nice and do your hair and makeup
  • Indulge at the end of your day
  • SIMPLY DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ( and don’t even think about feeling guilty)
